The Ghost of Christmas Cards Past

I got quite a few comments on how good my kids' picture with Santa turned out this year. I have to admit, I was quite surprised myself. But rest assured, I have my own issues getting three kids to sit, smile, look at the camera, keep their hands off each other, quit wrestling, open their eyes, etc.  For whatever reason [glutton for punishment?], I opted not to use the kids' Santa photo for our family Christmas card this year. My saving grace is the collage photo. In the collage photo you can choose a good photo of each child and plop them all down on the card. I had a friend who used to alternate which child would look the best on the annual Christmas card because there's no way in God's green earth that two or three kids will look good in one photo. The collage photo saves the day. You can choose different photos of all three kids looking [with eyes open] at the camera and smiling, without wiggling or laying down or whatever else frisky children like to do.

Here is our family's 2004 Christmas card. It went out with the caption, "You'd better watch out, you'd better not cry."  Sometimes a "not so perfect" Christmas card is the only option.

I adore this photo. For its sheer entertainment value, it should be framed somewhere in your home.

I too embraced the photo collage this year. Once you have more than one child, there is no way around it.
