Trophy Girl.

Ansley played soccer for the first time this season.  And her father coached soccer for the first time this season.  They both thoroughly enjoyed the experience and  I really enjoyed watching their interactions.

Ansley was so proud to score her first goal in the last game of the season.  I am so glad she had the opportunity to be a part of a team and spend time with her friends. I was also glad that she was spending time outside and getting exercise.

Ansley's favorite part of playing soccer was the goody bag handed out at the end of every game (I know, tell me about it).  And of course this....

the all important trophy.  I've played team sports, but I've never earned a trophy. Today, kids get a trophy for just showing up.  I'm not sure I agree with that philosophy and the message we're sending our children, but she doesn't seem to mind.

[As much as we all enjoyed this soccer season, don't think for one second that I'm not happy to have my Saturdays back.]
