Bringing Up Peaches.

Ansley had a play date today after kindergarten with a classmate. It was her first play date with the little girl.

I called upstairs to Ansley and asked were the girls hungry and would they like a snack.

Ansley replied quickly, "Oh, YES MA'AM!"

I could hear the little girl ask "Why did you say ma'am? What does that mean?"

Ansley said, "I dunno. We call our mom ma'am and our dad sir. It's just what we say in our family."

It's comforting to know that even though she may not know why she says it, she still says it.

It's not always easy to raise peaches in an apple orchard.

[Not that there's anything wrong with apples, mind you.]

Cute! All of my children say "sir" and "ma'am." We were raised that way, and that's how we're raising our children.

I like apples too!

That is too funny! My mom would get mad if I responded to her with a yes ma'am!

From one southern Peach to another, so glad to find you. This is the perfect post for me to see today, as my daughter has been on my mind all day. Kudo's on your little Peach, and hats off to you for "doing it right".
