Update.

I was able to use the elliptical on Monday.  It works like a charm.  Thanks, Honey.

As to the "spare" TV in the bedroom, I had an epiphany.  My parents used to have this huge console TV and occasionally the horizontal hold would give way to incessant scrolling.  If you hit the TV on the side of the console with a hard thump, the flipping would stop.  This afternoon, I turned on the bedroom TV and thumped the side.  VOILA.  Picture returned, problem solved.  I'm sure the TV is on its last leg anyway. However, I realized that in the last four days I have read almost four books.  I don't think I'm going to tell my hubby the TV is functional just yet.  [No worries, he is only a periodic reader of my blog.]

Hubby was able to return the shiny, new [broken] coffee maker for another shiny new [working] coffee pot.  PHEW.  I am not happy in the morning without my coffee.  [After reading my previous blog entry, hubby assured me that I could never be replaced as easily as a coffee maker.]

However, it appears that our treadmill is broken.  On Monday afternoon my husband decided to go for a run on the treadmill.  He turned it on as usual and "POW".  A big bang and a large puff of smoke.  It turns out the smoke emanated from a piece of sidewalk chalk jammed into the motor by our 2-1/2 year old son.  In case you're wondering, treadmills do not like to be jammed with sidewalk chalk.

I am so glad your TV is fixed and your treadmill is broken now. THAT is the way it should be. I would have shoved that piece of chalk in their myself and blamed it on my 2 year old if it meant no more running. :)

Smoke from an exercise machine is never a good sign, yikes! I noticed that a bunch of our stuff died at the same time, too.
